Algae toxicity test:
At Monjour, we are committed to respecting sea algae, which is why we have developed the stick with non -toxic assets for the marine ecosystem. To confirm this lack of harmfulness, a test was carried out according to a standard called ISO 10253: 2016*. *ISO 10253: 2016: Water quality - Inhibition trial of seaweed algae from Skeletonema sp. and phaeodactylum tricornutum.

How was the test done?
Phaeodactylum tricornutum seaweed, cultivated in growth conditions identical to their traditional environment, have been exposed to a concentration of solar stick equivalent to that applied regularly to the skin for 72 hours. The toxic potential is determined by assessing the inhibition of algae growth.

What are the test results?
No impact on algae growth after 72 hours could be observed, confirming the lack of toxicity of the stick for seaweed.

Packaging and recycling:
The stick is made from 100% recyclable plastics: • PP (propylene) • PET (Polyethylene Téréphtaplate) • PETG (Polyyhtylene Téréphtalate Glycolized) End of life of the SOLAIRE SCRECT: The empty container of the SPF50 Solar Stick must be thrown in the Yellow bins or trash what becomes of the packaging of the solar stick my day after throwing it? The stick is completely recycled to give life to new packaging (and that several times).

Faq

The skin of babies is very fine, therefore, exposure to the sun very easily burns their skin.

• Before 6 months, the use of sunscreen is not recommended because the skin is too fine and could be subject to allergic reactions. It is therefore essential to protect baby as much as possible (UV clothing, hat, sunglasses) avoiding any exposure to the sun (shadow).

• Between 6 months and 1 year, the use of sunscreen is possible provided you use creams suitable for their skin SPF50 or 50+ (hypoallergenic, suitable solar filters), as is the case of the SPF50 solar stick Monjour. The exposure of babies directly to the sun must be avoided, it is necessary to protect it as much as possible from UV rays by favoring shadow and physical protections (clothes, hat, cap, sunglasses).

• After 1 year, direct exposure to the sun is possible but still avoiding as much as possible. The sooner the skin will be exposed to the sun and the greater the risk of damage. Especially since during childhood, the body is in full development and the cells are growing, which makes them more sensitive to the damage caused by UV rays.

UV intensity depends on several factors:

→ The time of year: UVs are the most intense in the months of June-July-August

→ The location of the sun in the sky. You have to reason in the sun's hour (position the sun according to a dial) and not in local time (that of your watch). When the sun is positioned

• Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. of the dial, 20-30% of UV rays are issued.

• Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. of the dial, 75% of UV rays are issued.

→ The altitude you are: the higher the altitude and the more intense the UV rays (less atmosphere is present to absorb the rays)

One of the most substantial risks of skin sun exposure is that of developing skin cancer. According to the Foundation for Medical Research (FRM), more than 80% of skin cancers are linked to excessive sun exposure.

UV rays can cross up to 85% of the clouds, it is therefore essential to apply a sunscreen even in cloudy weather (this advice is all the more important for children/babies).

No sunscreen is not enough to protect the skin because even with a SPF50 screen like that of the SPF50 Monjour Solar Stick, 2% of the rays can penetrate the skin (and the total screen does not yet exist).

Yes, water has a reverberation rate of UV rays of 5% but it is not the only one:

• grass and earth has a reverberation of less than 10%

• snow reverberates 80% of UV rays

• The dry sand of a beach reverberates 15% of UV rays (and yes it's superior to water!)

• The sea foam reverberates 25% of UV rays
