The origin of shea butter

Shea butter is from Africa and more particularly from the savannah called Shea Belt (or shea belt) with areas such as the Ivorian side, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria. The butter comes from nuts in the shea tree (also called the butter tree). This tree considered sacred, can measure up to 20 meters in height and reaches its full nut production after 50 years. Trees produce an average of 15-20kg of fruit/year. Of these nuts alone the nuclei, called almonds, are used to make butter, they are very rich in fat (about 50%).
