Sundials that respect the skin and the environment
Monjour solar products come from 2 years of laboratory work with many tests ensuring their respect for health and biodiversity.
Tests to guarantee security vis-à-vis babies and pregnant women
So that our solar are compatible with pregnant women and children, they have undergone many tests guaranteeing their safety.
Test measuring phototoxicity
For what ? Some ingredients used in cosmetics are photostoxic. This means that once the product is applied to the skin and that the latter is exposed to the sun, the ingredients can create toxic reactions.
How ? To avoid this, Monjour submitted its solar products to the international test OECD 432: 2019* guaranteeing non-phototoxic products. *Evaluation of the phototoxic potential according to the in Vitro 3T3 NRU method (OECD 432: 2019).
Test measuring skin irritation
For what ? Some ingredients used in cosmetics are likely to create skin irritation reactions.
How ? To avoid this, Monjour tested its solar products under dermatological control via the Patch Test*, a recognized cosmetic test, ensuring products adapted to sensitive skin of children & non -irritating. *Evaluation of the skin compatibility of a cosmetic product under dermatological control - Patch test 10 volunteers for 48 hours.
Test measuring UVB protection
For what ? The measurement of UVB protection of a solar product is essential to determine its effectiveness and ensure its safety.
How ? My day tested its solar products According to the ISO 24444: 2019* standard guaranteeing SPF50 protections (solar stick) and SPF50+ (Solar spray). *ISO 24444: 2019: DE VIVO determination of the sun protection factor (SPF).
Test measuring the toxicity of the ingredients
For what ? Certain substances used in cosmetics can be toxic to pregnant women and babies.
How ? Each of the substances contained in the solar product has been evaluated individually by a toxicologist to determine their penetration into the skin, ensuring that none of them is absorbed to dangerous concentrations for the pregnant woman and the baby.
A test to respect sea algae
At Monjour, we are committed to respecting sea algae, which is why we have developed solar products with non-toxic assets for the certified sea ecosystem Etoxisafe.
To obtain this certification and confirm the absence of any harmful character, a test was carried out according to ISO 10253: 2016*. *ISO 10253: 2016: Water quality - Inhibition trial of seaweed algae from Skeletonema sp. and phaeodactylum tricornutum.
How was the test done? Phaeodactylum tricornutum seaweed (putting a photo of the algae), cultivated in growth conditions identical to their traditional environment, were exposed to a concentration of each of the monjour solar products (equivalent to that applied regularly to the skin) for 72 hours.
The toxic potential is determined by assessing the inhibition of algae growth. What are the test results? No impact on algae growth after 72 hours could be observed, confirming the lack of toxicity of solar products for seaweed.
