How to effectively apply your sunscreen?

Did you know that a poorly applied sunscreen can reduce its protection efficiency by 75%? In this article, Monjour explains to you how to effectively apply your sunscreen to spend a summer in all serenity!

Sun screen application advice

A solar stick preferably applies to the face and sensitive areas because of its diameter and its application way (without spreading).

Whether for children or adults, it is necessary to make at least 3 round trips of the stick on the skin. A fluid/sunscreen can be applied to the whole body.

According to the ANSM recommendations, it is necessary to apply 2mg of sunscreen/cm2 of skin ... a little barbaric figures which are difficult to represent on the body.

Do not panic, my day gives you the corresponding doses:

For an adult: About 6 good tablespoons on the body and 2 teaspoons on the face and neck

For a child: Depending on his age and size, the amount of application varies, you must in any case cover generously cover your body and face with sunscreen. Do not forget the following areas (far too often forgotten): ears, eyelids, neck, armpits, groin, below the buttocks and feet!

When to renew the application of sunscreen?

The health authorities recommend a sunscreen renewal approximately every 2 hours and according to the following situations:

- After each swim (once the skin dried)

- In case of excessive sweating

If you want to bathe, don't forget to apply a sunscreen 30 min before going into the water!
